On Friday and Saturday leisurely walk the Manor grounds and watch artists paint in the open air. The artists’ "wet" painted created works will be on display and sold during the Outdoor Art Show on the Great Lawn on Sunday, 8/17. This is your chance to own an original piece of art of the Manor. Viewing is free and open to the public. En Plein Artists must register (see below).The Manor will be open for tours both days. Spend a lazy summer day at the 4th Annual Art Show. View artwork created in different mediums; watercolor, oil & acrylics, sculptures, ceramics, photographs and more by local artists on the Manor’s Great Lawn. Artwork offered for purchase by artists. Open and free to the public to view the show. Download an artist registration form or pick one up from Garden Gate Gallery, 146 W. Main Street, Bay Shore. Smithsonian Museum Day
11:30 am - 3:30pm
In the spirit of Smithsonian, the Manor will be open free to the public for house tours on this day.
To take a tour you will need to download a pass from the Smithsonian website. A pass will entitle you to 2 free admissions into the Manor for the tour. Additional tickets will be charged our regular tour fee. The gift shop will be open.

Experience life from the 1700’s. Watch the 3rd NY Revolutionary Regiment performing maneuvers, learn surgical procedures and remedies of the Colonial era and take a cemetery tour and listen to the history of the family members who reside there. Activities include crafts for children, old-fashioned games and learn about other historic activities. Also on hand are Colonial demonstrations and exhibits, Old English Country dancing and puppet show. The Manor will be open for self-guided tours (opens at 12:00 pm). West Islip Library, 3 Higbie Lane, West Islip

Design, bake and decorate your own gingerbread creation. Then bring it to the West Islip Library for judging and display. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places by the People’s Choice voting. Gingerbread projects will be dislayed at the West Islip Public Library 11/30 - 12/12 and then at Sagtikos Manor during the Christmas tours, 12/13 - 12/14.
