Art Show on the Great Lawn

Show open free for public viewing

Art show features local fine artists. View artwork done in watercolor, oil/acrylics, photography, ceramics, sculpture, paper/montage, fine jewelry and more. Artwork offered for purchase by artists. Open and free to the public to view the show. Artists interested in showing their artwork and registering for the show download a space agreement. Smithsonian Museum Day
Saturday, September 26
11:00 am - 3:30 pm

In the spirit of Smithsonian, the Manor will be open free to the public for house tours on this day. To take a tour you will need to download a pass from the Smithsonian website (Available August 1). A pass will entitle you to two free admissions into the Manor for the tour. Additional tickets will be charged our regular tour fee. The gift shop will be open.

Fall Festival at Sagtikos
Sunday, October 4
10:00 am - 4:00 pm

 

Experience life from the 1700’s. Watch the 3rd NY Revolutionary Regiment performing maneuver. Take a cemetery tour and listen to the history of the family members who reside there. Activities include crafts for children, old-fashioned games and learn about other historic activities. Also on hand are Colonial demonstrations and exhibits. The Manor will be open for self-guided tour. The Fall Festival is an event for the whole family. Gingerbread Competition

Calling all bakers! The Fifth Annual Gingerbread Competition will take place Thanksgiving weekend.It is not too early to dream up your ideas. Bake your gingerbread creation (it does not need to be a house) and bring it to the West Islip Public Library to be judged by public voting. Bring your friends and family to view and vote for their favorite. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Registration forms will be available soon. All gingerbread pieces will be on display at the library until December 10.
